The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) is far too bureaucratic and since the introduction of the greening measures it has tied farmers up in too much red tape.
It is good news therefore that after lobbying from MEPs, the European Commission has agreed to significantly simplify both the CAP and the greening measures.
It has therefore launched an online consultation which allows farmers to have their say about greening measures and how the CAP can be simplified.
It can be accessed here: https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/greening-first-year
It is vitally important that we get the message across to the Commission on where the CAP is failing farmers, so I would urge them to respond to the consultation. If any farmers have any evidence or examples of CAP problems they would like me to highlight to the Commission I can be reached at email@example.com.
