Daniel speaks up to protect the Inuit's traditional way of life

Daniel Dalton MEP today spoke up for the ECR Group in Strasbourg on the Trade in Seals debate, in particular supporting the right of Inuit's to trade whilst also protecting this precious animal. Since 2009, a ban had been in place which refused the right of Inuit's to hunt seals, something which has been hugely damaging for the Inuit communities daily survival.

Dan said: "I am happy that the outcome led to the Inuit's being given a right to hunt for survival purposes, also protecting seal welfare by banning hunting carried out for commercial, rather than subsistence purposes, something which is extremely important to me."
