Daniel has been reappointed by his fellow MEPs as lead negotiator for Conservative MEPs political group on the European Parliament’s Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee.
The European Conservatives and Reformists Group is the third largest in the Parliament and the Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee remains a key priority area for the UK government.
After his re-appointment, Daniel commented:
“I am grateful for my colleagues' support, but more importantly, this is a signal from my fellow MEPs that they want the UK to remain a strong pro-free market voice in the EU until we leave.”
“We may be leaving it but it is in the UK’s economic interests to have a single market that is open for business.”
“Over the next two years I intend to keep promoting a pro-consumer choice and pro-competition agenda.”
