Daniel discusses the sharing economy with Uber CEO

Daniel today attended an event about "Urban Mobility in the Digital Age", with the CEO and Founder of Uber, Travis Kalanick, discussing ways in which the sharing economy can be used to provide cheaper and more efficient urban travel. Daniel has been a passionate advocate for the sharing economy since becoming an MEP and produces a regular column for CapX on the subject. Travis Kalanick was voted runner-up for Time Magazine's person of the year in 2015.

Daniel said: "The sharing economy is an issue which I have championed regularly and believe it offers great potential for both the local and national economy. The sharing economy is now the fastest growing business sector in the UK with regulatory attempts to hinder the service continuing to fail, with consumer demand from the market clearly prevailing."
